Before I went off to college, I did not think that I would be one of “those” people that constantly talks about their alma matter. I went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, having loved the school for most of my childhood. When I finally stepped foot on campus, however, that love intensified ten fold. I was very involved in the student life and I never missed a football or basketball game.
When I graduated, I was very proud of my accomplishment. I also found that I had an even deeper appreciation for my school than I thought possible. I began showcasing my allegiance to Carolina in a number of different ways, including purchasing a number of apparel pieces for my wardrobe.
Another thing I did was tie my banking accounts to my love for UNC. My credit card has a picture of the Old Well. My personal checks are also designed with my collegiate logo. I don’t know why, but it makes me happy to showcase my alma matter in that way. I’ve had a number of conversations about Carolina as a result of my checks and card, too, which is a lot of fun.
